Job Description:
Our Clients are making investments in smart grid technology and advanced asset management across their infrastructure. Central to this is improved asset management with market leading management of future technologies, management of enterprise wide assets, alignment to cutting edge standards of asset maintenance and replacement, near-real-time access to information and predictive analysis, improved outage management, overall reduced electrical losses, and increased system efficiency.
For this role OSIsoft PI is central. PI serves as the primary enterprise-wide data aggregator and historian, analytics engine and metadata landing spot. As such, this position will be critical to align and oversee the success of ongoing cross functional efforts. The purpose of this role is to serve as the point person for all aspects related to the OSI PI system. This includes but is not limited to aiding and leading integration of data from various interfaces (Maximo/GE’s APM/etc.), end to end system diagnostics, and ensuring high data availability. Additionally, this role will serve as the SME and/or decision maker in business process-related challenges, incorporating governance into daily activities and demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Further, the role will team with analysts as needed to extract, interpret, and assist with performing advanced analytics.
The Utility Technical Product Lead will be responsible for all key components of the OSI PI system and will play a key role as a single point of contact, super user, change coordinator, management of testing and training on existing and new functionality. The role will also play a key role in managing the longer-term roadmap and direction of these applications as needed.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Utility Technical Product Lead sit across all aspects of the PI system.
Serves as a single point of contact for end to end OSIsoft PI functional issues across the Corporate organization and plants. This includes understanding the integration of sensors, Plant and Corporate network structures, in use APIs, asset framework hierarchy, point tag configuration parameters, visualization tools, PI datalink, etc. Additionally, the roles will oversee all governance related to PI system in conjunction with other groups.
Engages in system triage, performs root cause evaluations and implementation of corrective actions to ensure availability of data and visualizations.
Provides quality assurance and control of PI interfaces and tags through building of health monitoring system.
Coordinates implementation of change management processes and standards including maintaining constant communications to ensure changes do not impact critical operations.
Identifies skill gaps within the organization and drives and coordinates training to internalize these to our clients.
Manages the OSIsoft Enterprise Agreement relationship by keeping a pulse on industry trends and internal efforts to ensure the contract and future negotiations are maximized.
Works cross functionally to keep an updated road map of organizational efforts to assist in influencing resource focus and application.
Chairs PI User group meetings and observes all subgroup categories.
Presents topics to appropriate standing committees and plants.
Leverage Client resources where possible, provide internal resources with opportunity to grow

Strong knowledge of OSI PI Data Historian, point tag configurations, AF/PI Vision, AF3 Analytics, PI Vision displays
Ability to perform objective analyses and business processes mapping and requirements analysis to maximize quality service and cost-effectiveness.
Excellent written and oral communication essential to ascertain present and future customer needs and to write system documentation
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of OSIsoft PI experience
Minimum of 4 years of electric utility industry experience.
Hands-on experience on industrial automation (PLC, SCADA, DCS) is desirable
Physical Requirements
NYC Location Preferred
Up to 25% travel primarily within NY State
Ability to travel to project sites to coordinate with plant operators and technology management teams
